Meet our staff
I am Dennis Gosnell. I came to Oklahoma and Rose State College from California. I spent five years in the U.S. Army as an Airborne Infantryman, serving out of Fort Richardson Alaska. I’ve long felt that writing, and by extension reading hold the key fundamentals to growing and finding ways in which to deal with difficult situations. I never really Imagined myself writing for a newspaper or that I would be any good at it. But here I am working for the 15th Street News and finding that I very much enjoy it.
My name is Chelsea Ratterman, and I am the assistant editor at 15th Street News as well as a Student Ambassador for RSC. I graduated from Midwest City High School in 2011, after being editor in chief of the newspaper there for 3 years, as well as the TV Show, Bomber News. My major is Journalism, with an emphasis on broadcast. I find anything dealing with the supernatural fascinating, and I love movies, books, and Coca- Cola.
My name is Amber Stafford; I grew up here in the Midwest City-Del City area. I graduated from Del City High 1996. After graduating from high school, I took some classes at Rose, but it just was not setting in so I decided to take some time off. Then I later met my husband Brian of 10 years, we have 2 boys: Riley 6 ,and Cooper, 5. After being a stay-at-home mother for the last 5 years, I decided to go back to school and finish what I started way back then. As I take on going back to school working toward my goal of becoming a broadcast journalist. It has been quite a journey juggling school, work, and family but I would not change anything. Everything happens for a reason; it is part of God’s plan. So I am very blessed to have a great family and great team here at the 15th Street News. I also enjoy being outdoors walking, running, or just soaking up some sun!
Hello, I'm Melissa Strout. I am the online editor here at the 15th Street News. I manage the online part of our newspaper, including but not limited to our web site, club page, and social media. I'm a non-traditional student with 2 children and a husband at home. Attending Rose State is a great accomplishment for me and I'm excited to be able to say "I am a student". Working at the paper gives me real life experience in the web and design industry, and I enjoy it greatly.
I’m a journalism major, with a penchant for painful puns and excessive alliteration. I’m an Eagle Scout with the Boys Scouts of America. The oldest of five children, I served a two-year service mission for my church in the Washington DC area, from 2006-2008. I enjoy playing the Settlers of Catan board game, and the card game, Magic: the Gathering. I enjoy film theory, but rarely watch movies; I prefer to read movie reviews and analysis. I enjoy writing and editing, and plan on pursuing either a newspaper career, or a career in marketing and public relations.
