Distance Learning :. Internet Courses
We are switching to the Desire2Learn (D2L) platform beginning this summer. Please see the Rose D2L page for more information.
Are you considering enrolling in an online course? Read the online article from WorldWideLearn, Why Do Students Like Online Learning? Rose State College is currently switching from WebCT to Desire2Learn for its learning management system. The Student Guide for Internet and Web-enhanced Courses (PDF - 277 KB) was written with WebCT as our course platform, but some of it remains applicable. A new guide will be written as soon as possible. Please visit the Rose D2L site for more information.
You may enroll in online courses in exactly the same way as you enroll in our on-campus courses. For a list of online courses that have spaces available, go to the Semester Schedule and choose the semester in which you wish to enroll. Then, click the Additional Search Criteria link. Choose Computer Based for the Mode of Instruction. The Course Offerings and Information page also contains information about our online courses. This page is manually updated and may not be as current as the Semester Schedule. Online course tuition is slightly higher than on-campus courses as there is a $12/hour additional fee for electronic course delivery. See our 2007-2008 Tuition Rates for Online Courses (PDF - 36KB) to help calculate your tuition cost.
If you have questions about our online courses that are not answered by our website, please contact the division through which the course is taught or Chris Meyer in the Distance Learning office.
