“Culture” is the way that groups of people understand the world. Its meaning is derived from a Latin word meaning “to cultivate”, as if the act of understanding must be tended like a garden.
At Rose State College, our cultural programs bring forth many fruits, whether it’s a better understanding of Native American heritage, to mental health, history, family issues or the peoples of faraway lands.
Cultural programs at Rose State College include field trips, art, informed and inspirational speakers, and educational opportunities. Some events are offered for credit, others for the joy of learning.
In the end, cultural programs at Rose State College, like the many colors sewn into an Oklahoma patchwork quilt, give us the diversity of different worldviews in a never-ending pattern that delights even as it warms.
