Q. I will be a new student. How do I apply to Rose State College?
A. An Application for Admission must be filled out and submitted to the Office of Admissions and Records. The application may be mailed, submitted via the Rose State College Web Site or brought in person to the Office of Admissions and Records.
Q. What documents do I need to bring with me when applying for admission?
A. High school graduates who have not attended another college or university will need to submit an official high school transcript (with date of graduation listed) and ACT scores (if the ACT test has been taken). Students who have attended another college or university will need to submit official transcripts from each institution previously attended. Transfer students may also need to submit a high school transcript. For non high school graduates, GED scores and certificates may be required as well as a partial high school transcript.
Q. Do I have to take any tests before I can be admitted?
A. Not before being admitted. However, assessment testing may be required before enrolling in certain classes. The need for assessment testing will be determined by your academic advisor.
Q. What if I want to take a non-credit course, do I still have to fill out an Application for Admission?
A. No. Non-credit Continuing Education courses and Senior Adult course enrollments are handled by the Office of Continuing Education located in the Tom Steed Center for Career Development.
Q. Will Rose State College mail my grades at the end of the semester/session?
A. No. Students may access their final grades using the Voice Response System by calling 739-8255 or via the Rose State College web site through the OASIS On-Line Student Information System. Students may also use kiosks located in the Student Center lobby and the LRC lobby. You will need to know your PIN number to access these systems.
Q. What is my PIN number?
A. Your default PIN number will be your birth month and day. For example, if you were born on February 10, your default pin would be 0210. The first time you use the OASIS system, you must change your pin number to a number that only you know. The Office of Admissions and Records DOES NOT keep a list of student PIN numbers.
Q. What are your office hours?
A. The Office of Admissions and Records is open Monday-Tuesday 8am to 8pm, Wednesday-Thursday 8am to 6pm and Friday 8am to 5pm.
