Son del Barrio  will be at Global Oklahoma all morning.  Formed in July of 2002, the rhythmic foundation of Son del Barrio is Armando Rivera, a Congero from Guadalajara, México, Antonio Pacheco, a Timbalero from New York, and Daniel Caldero, a Bongocero from Chicago. Much to the benefit of Son Del Barrio, these gentlemen represent the best Latin percussionist in the state and are true veterans of the music scene. On vocals are singer Robert Ruiz from San Antonio, Wilmari Ruiz, who is of Puerto Rican heritage, and Osmay Gutierrez Danger from Pinar del Rio, Cuba. These singers also play Trombone, Flute, and trumpet respectively.

Together these musicians recreate the sounds and feelings that are experienced everyday in the world’s Latino neighborhoods for all audiences. Through its musical diversity and energy, Son Del Barrio has the power to please all Latin Music enthusiasts and the ability to energize a wide-variety of events. For an exciting and fun filled performance, enjoy the tropical treasures of Son del Barrio!

Son del Barrio are members of the Oklahoma Art’s Council Touring Roster and Mid-America Touring Roster. For booking information contact Enye Music.

The Capoeira Angola Cultural Defense Foundation of Oklahoma City led by William Rose will be performing at Global Oklahoma. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian dance/game/martial art that is tightly woven with the heritage and culture of Brazil. Its history begins in Africa among various tribes and their martial arts and cultural activities, before evolving in the Americas to what it is today.
