Leadership Scholarships

Rose State College is proud to offer many scholarships that provide students with opportunities to develop leadership skills as an active component of the program.  Recipients will have demonstrated skills in leadership, citizenship, organization, and communication.

Many scholarships are available, including the President's Leadership Class, Legacy Scholars, and Student Ambassadors, to name a few.  The deadline for these scholarship applications is the first Monday in March for an award effective for the upcoming Fall semester. The online application link at the bottom of this page will be activated and available to students from January 2, 2013 thru March 4, 2013 at 5:00 pm.

Scholarship Information & CriteriaBelow is a list of scholarships available. To make this process easy for you, we have combined several scholarship applications into this one for you to complete. The scholarship committee uses the criteria, based on your answers, to match you to a scholarship. To be considered, please complete the entire online application and provide your transcript to the Office of Enrollment Managment by the deadline date. Allow yourself plenty of time to complete the essay questions to ensure you will be considered a viable candidate for one our our scholarship programs. All instructions and information will be listed in the application.

President's Leadership Class - Only available to graduating high school or home school seniors.

Legacy Scholars - Only available to graduating high school or home school seniors.

Student Ambassadors - Available to all students.

Tinker Federal Civic Leaders - Military spouses (E1-E6) and adult civilians (ages 24 and older) may apply.

Frances White Hughes Scholars - Available to students major in one of the fine arts, arts management, or art librarian areas.

Hudiburg Scholars - Available to all students.

Community Scholars- Only available to graduating high school or home school seniors.

Academic Success - Only available to graduating high school or home school seniors.

Additional Information

To receive a scholarship, the student must be a legal resident of the State of Oklahoma as classified by the Office of Admissions and Records. Scholarships are not available to non-residents. All students are required to enroll in a minimum number of credit hours based upon the award type.

All students receiving leadership scholarships, with the exception of the Academic Success Scholarship, are required to enroll in STSR 2102, Lessons in Leadership Class during the first fall semester and attend the Leadership Retreat in August. A key component of the course is the application of leadership  theory to "real life" projects. Participants also focus on balancing their time and involvement, developing goals, and learning and practicing communication skills. Other participation required is club participation, service hours, attend meeting, etc. depending on the leadership scholarship received. Scholar-leaders also have one on one case management of their academic plans.
