Dear RSC Online Student:
I know you are looking forward to an exciting semester of online classes. When you are in the vicinity you may use the myriad of resources we have available at the RSC Learning Resources Center—online databases, books, ebooks, periodicals, videos, computers, etc. Your student ID permits circulation privileges. Did you know that you have the following off-campus library privileges, the same as an on-campus student?
- You may use the LRC’s Library Catalog to find materials at http://rose.library.okstate.edu/vwebv/searchBasic
- You may view and download full-text journal articles available through the Library’s research databases. Visit the LRC at https://rose2010.publishpath.com/online-databases. Your log-in needs to be validated on campus. So if you would like off-campus access to databases and are not on campus, please call or email Melissa Huffman (733-7538, mhuffman@rose.edu), Sharon Saulmon (736-0259, ssaulmon@rose.edu) or the reference desk (733-7543, refdesk@rose.edu ).
- You may e-mail a reference librarian at refdesk@rose.edu or call 733-7543, if you have questions. From our online databases page you may also contact a librarian 24/7. Use Ask-a-Librarian.
- Online Tutoring Center is available for English, math, and science courses, https://rose2010.publishpath.com/free-online-tutoring. Plus we have live tutors in the LRC for general education classes. For more information https://rose2010.publishpath.com/tutoring-services.
- You may utilize most academic libraries in Oklahoma and check out books. A list of cooperating libraries is available at http://www.okhighered.org/ocald/participating-libraries.shtml. You must visit the LRC and receive an OK-Share card or call the circulation desk at 405-733-7338, if you are only an online student.
- We have over 50 computers available for research or writing papers – and all with a librarian or other staff member nearby to help with your research needs.
While on campus, come by the LRC, if it’s only to work on a class assignment, check your email, or find a quiet place to read the newspaper.
We hope you have a great semester at Rose State! Please let us help you succeed and also learn the skills necessary to be a lifelong learner after graduation. Why not bookmark the LRC website while you’re thinking about it in case you need help later this semester – https://rose2010.publishpath.com/learning-resources-center?
