Information Matrix Camp
An information science/library camp
for Oklahoma middle school students 2010Join the fun...July 18-24, 2010 -- The fourth Information Matrix Camp is being planned for Oklahoma middle-schoolers (ages 12-14). Camp activities include--
Visiting an exciting variety of libraries around the Tulsa metropolitan area.
Making online photos, electronic scrapbooking and blogging our adventures.
Watching library-related movies and attending other public events (drum circle, "Oh, Dewey," ball game).
Finding out about librarians who don't fit the librarian stereotype.
Playing games and swimming.
Exploring what happens behind the scenes at libraries.
Learning what happens in a "normal" library.
Oh, yes, there's eating, too.
And more.

Ask a librarian to recommend you (on pp. 4-5 of application).
Send them along with your check for $150. Your check will be returned, if you are not accepted because of space limitations. Cancellations may be made up to June 1 for full refund. (Food, transportation, and housing are finalized at this time.)
Two scholarships are available. Mark "scholarship needed" at the top of the application.

This year the camp is totally funded by registration, librarian support, libraries' support, and corporate donors. The camp is sponsored this year by The University of Tulsa McFarlin Library, Rose State College, and the Oklahoma Library Association.
