Mathematics provides a language and tools for understanding the physical world around us and the abstract world within us. Mathematics is used extensively in a broad spectrum of fields ranging from the traditional areas of pure mathematics such as analysis, algebra, geometry, statistics, topology and actuarial science, to applied mathematics areas such as combinatorics, computational biology, fluid dynamics, theoretical computer science, and theoretical physics. The top 15 highest-earning college degrees all have one thing in common -- math skills. That's according to a recent survey from the National Association of Colleges and Employers, which tracks college graduates' job offers.
The goal of the Associate in Science in Mathematics program is to prepare students for additional study in mathematics or any technical field which relies on mathematics. Our program is designed to provide students with the core which will enable them to enter a baccalaureate degree program in mathematics or engineering.
