Ms. Oklahoma Senior America Pageant

Mandolins, tap dancing, and sexy seniors are on the stage when Rose State College hosts the 2013 Ms. Oklahoma Senior America Pageant at the Performing Arts Theatre in Midwest City, Saturday, July 13 from 2-4 p.m.

 As with similar contests, the winner of the pageant will go on to represent the state of Oklahoma at the Finals, Sunday, October 20-25, 2013 at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ.

The pageant seeks to draw attention to women age 60 and over, to emphasize not only physical beauty but also “inner beauty,” talent and elegance. Contestants will face a panel of judges who will score them in categories of Evening Gown, Talent, Philosophy of Life, and finally, by an interview with all the judges.

"You have to see these amazing women,” said organizer Cynthia Judd. “They redefine that the new 40 is now a 60 years old. Their energy and enthusiasm in their lives we honor on that day is so inspiring to all generations."

Events planned for the pageant include:

* The Tinker Flying High Band, which will provide music throughout Pageant.
* World renowned Concert pianist, our 2009 Oklahoma Senior America, Virginia Campbell, will perform.
* Mary Clark, niece of country music legend Roy Clark, will perform on mandolin.
* Clogging and Tap Dancing performances.
* Comedy skits.
* Patriotic tributes.
* Chickasaw Nation Historical tribute.
* Performance by retired Col. Judy Kautz, Iraq War Veteran.
* Our Queens, Vickey Rose and Faye Hansen will perform a tribute to the survivors of the Moore Tornado.

Admission is free, in partnership with Rose State College’s Community Outreach to promote the opportunities for seniors to continue their education, keep exercising and be involved in the community. The admission is free. For more information, contact Cynthia Judd at 405.413.0908.
