The NAACP is one of the premier advocates for civil rights in their communities, campaigning for equal opportunity and conducting voter mobilization. Our principal objective is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of minority group citizens. It is the nation's oldest, largest and most widely recognized grassroots-based civil rights organization.
The National Education Program strives to ensure that all students have access to an equal and high-quality public education by eliminating education-related racial and ethnic disparities in our public schools. There are more than 25,000 young people, representing 700 college and high school chapters actively involved in the fight for civil rights. As part of the Youth and College Division, our primary focus issues include the following:
- Economic Development
- Juvenile Justice
- Voter Empowerment
President: Eddie Copeland
Vice President: Roger Bradley
Secretary: Cerees Crews
Treasurer: Tauheedah Jackson
