Counseling Services for Students, Faculty

Rose State College (RSC) offers short-term counseling to current students and employees. Counseling is a confidential process designed to help individuals address concerns, come to a greater understanding of themselves, and learn effective personal and interpersonal coping strategies. The intake process and short-term counseling sessions are at no charge to the student/employee. Counseling professionals in the Office of Special Services include licensed and license eligible counselors.

The Office of Special Services follows ethical standards and professional guidelines set forth by the American Counseling Association. Information disclosed in counseling sessions, including the fact that counseling has been initiated is confidential and will not be revealed to anyone outside this agency without the client’s prior written consent. Individuals seeking services should be aware that identifying information and session notes/reports are stored in a secured area. Professional staff and other designated employees of the Office of Special Services will have access to scheduling and data systems to schedule appointments and store demographic and personal information.

Is Counseling Right for You?

We all can experience personal problems that lead us to feel confused, anxious, overwhelmed, sad, and/or depressed. RSC Counseling Services is here to help. We offer a warm, relaxed and confidential place to talk things out. You may find that there are not simple answers to your problems, however talking to a therapist can result in finding new ways to look at problems as well as identifying suggestions and possible solutions. Often, just talking with someone who asks the right questions is all that is necessary to relieve stress and find answers. Some examples of problems that may seen by our staff:

Relationship Problems

Procrastination & Time Management
Low Self-Esteem
Loss & Grief Issues
