Scholars Program Eligibility
(Please go through the following qualifications to determine your eligibility)
_____ Do you work in a DHS or tribal licensed early care and education facility?
_____ Have you worked at your facility for at least six months?
_____ Are you paid for working a minimum of 30 hours per week with the children?
_____ Does the facility/family child care home currently have 10% DHS or tribal subsidy children?
_____ Does the facility/family child care home meet all 3 of the following criteria?
- Have a current DHS subsidy contract number or a tribal contract number?
- Have a Star Rating of “1 Star Plus” or higher?
- Can justify in writing the lack of 10% subsidy in care?
_____ Teachers and family child care providers must earn less than $15.50 per hour
_____ Directors and Assistant Directors must earn less than $15.50 per hour
_____ Applicant must be “On the Job” for 6 months before applying for the SECC scholarship (or 6 months on the job before the first class start date) with no greater than a 30 day break from child care employment
