Student Support Services

Overview

Student Support Services (SSS) is a national TRiO program funded by the Department of Education. Our goal is to ensure that participants persist in college and earn an associate’s degree or certificate and/or transfer to a four-year university. View the variety of services we provide below.

Transfer Assistance

When you’re ready to transfer, we’ll help you navigate through the application process, prepare your personal statement essays, and identify appropriate references.

Campus Visits

You’ll get the opportunity to visit multiple four-year institutions to help you determine which institution best suits your personal and academic needs. Already know where you want to go? These visits are a great way to become familiar with campus!

Academic Advisement

We offer individual and personalized advisement to help promote your academic success.

Tutoring & Academic Mentoring

You will have access to a private study hall and tutoring lab, designed specifically for SSS students. Our Academic Mentors will be available to enhance study skills in a variety of subject areas.

Workshops

Workshop topics include money management, study skills, stress management, math anxiety, learning styles, time management, career exploration, test taking – and many more!

Exposure to Cultural Events

You will have an opportunity to attend museums, festivals, plays, musicals, ballets, and other really great activities!

Resource Library

Our resource library includes a wide variety of materials designed to keep you on track academically. Textbooks, CDs, software, information cards - we've got the information you need to be successful!  Materials must be checked out and utilized in our tutoring lab.

Library Orientations

Become acquainted with the library and all of its many resources through our scheduled library orientations.

Community Service Referrals

Not sure where to go? SSS will help you find the right community and campus resources to meet your needs.

Student Expectations

SSS students are expected to participate in the program once accepted; however, the level of participation will vary depending on the support you desire. We expect you to be committed to your educational and personal goals – and that you will utilize our services to help you reach those goals.
