The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education have approved a new ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor micro-credential at Rose State College that equips students with nationally recognized fitness leadership skills and prepares them for certification.

This new micro-credential combines a preparation course for the ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor exam with current CPR/AED certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Students actively develop the knowledge and confidence to lead inclusive, high-energy group fitness classes that prioritize safety, motivation, and participant engagement.

As the first in a series of stackable credentials, the program empowers participants to build a strong foundation in health and wellness while progressing toward advanced fitness or coaching certifications.

Students in the ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor micro-credential:

  • Design and lead effective, inclusive group exercise programs.
  • Apply motivational coaching and client engagement strategies.
  • Select and cue music to enhance energy and performance.
  • Implement safety and risk management protocols.
  • Adhere to professional ethics and industry standards.

Participants who complete the program earn a digital badge recognizing their verified expertise in group exercise instruction and CPR/AED certification, making them immediately competitive in the health and wellness job market.

The program offers an ideal opportunity for students and professionals pursuing careers in health, fitness, or wellness.
