Rose State College is pleased to announce that the Norman and Carolyn Mejstrik Family Scholarship has been fully endowed through a generous gift from the Mejstrik family to the Rose State College Foundation.
The new endowment will provide financial assistance to two Rose State College students each academic year, beginning in 2027. The scholarship aims to remove financial barriers and empower students to focus on achieving their academic and career goals.
The scholarship will support students who meet the following criteria: they must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, legal residents of Oklahoma, and officially admitted to or eligible for admission to Rose State College. Recipients must enroll in at least six (6) credit hours each semester, maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average, and demonstrate financial need.
Recipients may use the funds to pay for tuition and fees, books, and other legitimate educational expenses at Rose State College.
Rose State College President Travis Hurst praised the family’s generosity, saying, “The Norman and Carolyn Mejstrik Family Scholarship embodies the spirit of community that drives our college forward. Their gift will directly impact students who might not otherwise have the means to pursue higher education.”
Anita Poole-Endsley, Executive Director of the Rose State College Foundation, added, “The Mejstrik family’s endowment strengthens our mission to make education accessible. Their support ensures that financial challenges won’t stand in the way of student success.”
The Rose State College Foundation will award the first scholarships in the 2027–2028 academic year.
