

Dr. Webb made history as Rose State College’s seventh president and the first woman to hold the position, serving from 2013 until her retirement on June 30, 2025. In recognition of her transformative leadership, the College named her President Emerita.
During her tenure, Dr. Webb led a period of growth and innovation. She increased enrollment, expanded student services, and oversaw construction of the state-of-the-art student union. Under her leadership, Rose State became the first urban community college in Oklahoma to offer on-campus student housing, significantly enhancing the student experience.
Dr. Webb also launched the Tanenbaum Aerospace and Cybersecurity Center and expanded the Nursing program through $9.4 million in ARPA funding.
A champion of student success and workforce development, Dr. Webb secured over $22 million in external funding and grants to improve campus facilities and strengthen partnerships benefiting both students and employers. Her visionary leadership earned statewide recognition for advancing higher education and driving innovation.
“Dr. Jeanie Webb is an exceptional leader, mentor, and friend,” said Rose State College President Travis Hurst. “Her vision redefined what a community college can be. She brought to life Oklahoma’s first bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity offered at a community college and the state’s only associate degree in Artificial Intelligence.”
Dr. Webb also secured over $36 million for infrastructure and program expansion while increasing annual scholarship support from $35,000 to more than $400,000.
In addition to Dr. Webb’s induction, OACC recognized three Rose State College employees with 2025 OACC President’s Outstanding Awards, which celebrate excellence and dedication among Oklahoma’s community college professionals.

Professor Sellars was honored for his innovative approach to teaching, commitment to student engagement, and leadership in integrating real-world business and technology applications into the classroom. His mentorship has inspired countless students to pursue successful careers in business, management, and cybersecurity. - Outstanding Professional Staff: Deana Stevens, Coordinator of Grants Finance & Contracts.
Stevens received recognition for her exceptional stewardship of grant funding and her instrumental role in securing and managing millions of dollars in external resources that directly benefit Rose State students, faculty, and programs. Her attention to detail and fiscal integrity have strengthened the College’s reputation for accountability and success. - Outstanding Support Staff: Shar’Nell Edmond, Senior Administrative Assistant to the Executive Vice President/CFO.
Edmond was celebrated for her professionalism, dedication, and unwavering support of the College’s executive leadership. Her organizational expertise and commitment to excellence have made her a trusted resource across campus and a valued member of the Rose State family.
President Hurst praised all three honorees, noting that their recognition “reflects the extraordinary talent and heart of Rose State’s employees, who embody the College’s mission of dedication, innovation, and service to students and community.”
