The Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges (OACC) will honor Dr. Jeanie Webb, President Emerita of Rose State College, by inducting her into the OACC Hall of Fame as part of its 2025 Class of Honorees. The recognition ceremony will take place on Friday, October 3, at 12:30 PM at the Oklahoma City Community College Visual and Performing Arts Center.

Dr. Webb made history as Rose State College’s seventh president and first woman to hold the position, serving from 2013 until her retirement on June 30, 2025. In recognition of her transformative leadership, the College named her President Emerita.

She began her career at Rose State in 1998 as Associate Vice President of External Affairs, advanced to Vice President for Student Affairs in 2000, and ascended to the presidency in 2013.

Throughout her presidency, Dr. Webb led unprecedented growth and innovation. She increased enrollment, expanded student services, and spearheaded the construction of a state-of-the-art student union. Under her leadership, Rose State became the first urban community college in Oklahoma to offer on-campus student housing, greatly enhancing the student experience.

Dr. Webb also launched the Tanenbaum Aerospace and Cybersecurity Center, secured approval for the Bachelor of Applied Technology in Cybersecurity, and expanded the Nursing program through $9.4 million in ARPA funding.

A champion of student success and workforce development, Dr. Webb secured over $22 million in external funding and grants to improve campus facilities and foster partnerships that benefit both students and employers. Her visionary leadership earned statewide recognition for advancing higher education and driving innovation.

Rose State College President Travis Hurst praised Dr. Webb’s profound contributions:

“Dr. Jeanie Webb is an exceptional leader, mentor, and friend. Her vision redefined what a community college can be. She brought to life Oklahoma’s first bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity offered at a community college and the state’s only associate degree in Artificial Intelligence.”

Dr. Webb also secured over $36 million for infrastructure and program expansion, while increasing annual scholarship support from just $35,000 to more than $400,000.

“Beyond academics, she elevated the student experience with on-campus housing, a vibrant student union, expanded athletics programs, and an updated learning resources center. Under her leadership, concurrent enrollment reached record highs, graduation rates climbed, and workforce and community partnerships flourished. Dr. Webb’s steadfast dedication has profoundly shaped Rose State College and higher education in Oklahoma,” Hurst added.

In addition to Dr. Webb’s Hall of Fame induction, OACC will recognize three Rose State College employees with 2025 OACC President’s Outstanding Awards:

  • Outstanding Faculty: Professor Tony Sellars, Business & Information Technology Division
  • Outstanding Professional Staff: Deana Stevens, Coordinator of Grants Finance & Contracts
