Rose State College Quiz Bowl Team Returns After Nearly Two Decades

One female RSC student and one male RSC student sit at a table ready for the Quiz Bowl competition.

After almost 20 years away from competition, Rose State College (RSC) has proudly re-launched its Quiz Bowl Team!

On September 24, students Cassidy McIntyre and Ayden Gates represented RSC at the Oklahoma Community College Kickoff hosted at Redlands Community College in El Reno, Oklahoma.

While most schools fielded full four-person teams, RSC’s duo of Raiders went head-to-head with the competition, showing determination, heart, and talent.

Even though they faced bigger teams, McIntyre and Gates finished with an impressive 7–3 record in the Novice Division. They secured 2nd place overall and averaged 239.5 points per game against the competition.

McIntyre claimed the top individual scorer title across both divisions as well. Her performance proved the hard work, quick thinking, and competitive spirit that define Raider excellence.

The day’s results show that RSC’s Quiz Bowl team is back in a big way.

Saturday marked an exciting new chapter for Quiz Bowl Team at RSC. With momentum on their side, the team looks forward to future competitions and continued success.

“Our RSC students and faculty work hard in the classroom every single day,” said Quiz Bowl Team Coach Dr. Amy Hurst. “Cassidy and Ayden represented Rose State College’s tradition of excellence in academics, and we are excited to see what they accomplish the remainder of the season.”

Congratulations to Cassidy McInyre, Ayden Gates, Dr. Amy Hurst, and the entire RSC Quiz Bowl Team on this outstanding performance. They proved that “It’s always greater to be a Raider!”
