Rose State Wants You:  Single Parents

Midwest City, Okla.Rose State College launches the Rose State College SMART Program, with funding from the Women’s Foundation of Oklahoma. The SMART Program mission at Rose State College is to link single-parent students to campus and community resources for academic and life success.

The SMART Summer Bridge Program is open to all single-parents who are Rose State students or prospective/future Rose State students. The workshops will focus on understanding the academic process, single parenting discussions, computer skills, financial aid, degree planning, family nutrition, and much more that will assist you with completing your RSC degree.

Rick Woodard, Director of Graduation and Career Services states, “The SMART Program will provide a campus community for single-parent student learners and will assist in advisement from start to graduation from Rose State College. Although SMART is an acronym for Single Mother's Academic Resource Team, the program is a resource for all single parent students at Rose State College and future Rose State College single parent students. This will be a fun and great opportunity to begin learning how to complete your RSC degree.”

Rose State College invites all single parents to attend the SMART Bridge Program that will be held July 20th – 23rd   from 12:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (lunch provided). Those interested in attending the RSC SMART Bridge Program must complete the registration application by July 13th.
