US Attorney General Speaks to Oklahoma Sheriffs at Rose State Published October 20, 2017 by Tamara Pratt

U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions served as the keynote speaker at an Oklahoma Sheriffs' Association event in Midwest City on Thursday, October 19, 2017. Oklahoma sheriffs, state prosecutors and Oklahoma lawmakers were in attendance at the hour-long meeting. Other speakers included Lieutenant Governor Todd Lamb, Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter and Oklahoma State Representative, Scott Briggs.

Jonathan Thompson, Executive Director of the National Sheriffs' Association, was also in attendance to provide comments from a national perspective for meeting attendees.

This marks the first visit from a sitting U.S. Attorney General in nearly two-decades.

State’s sheriffs from across all seventy-seven counties in Oklahoma attended the event as part of the 4,000 active members in the Oklahoma Sheriffs' Association. The association is one of the largest law enforcement associations in the state.
