Midwest City, Okla. – Rose State College will be hosting a special Veteran’s Day Luncheon 11am on November 9, and will feature special guest speaker Major General (Retired) Rita Aragon. This luncheon is open to the public and free to attend will be hosted by Veteran Student Services at Rose State College. This event will be the first event to celebrate Veteran’s Day, as the college will be participating in the Midwest City Veteran’s Day Parade the following day as part of the Midwest City 75th Anniversary Celebration.

Major General (Retired) Rita Aragon will provide a special address to those in attendance. Aragon is a retired United States Air National Guard two-star general. Retiring from the Air National Guard in 2006, Aragon was selected as the fourth Secretary of Veteran Affairs Secretary in 2011, the first woman to ever hold this position.

Located across the street from Tinker Air Force Base, Rose State College was selected as a 2017 top military-friendly college by Victory Media (learntobecome.org), and sees an average of 500 veteran students enrolled each fall. This event provides an opportunity for Rose State College to support both active and retired Military and their families, and continue to strengthen our relationship with Tinker Air Force Base.
