Women's Soccer Schedule Released, Victorious in Home Opener Published August 23, 2017 by Daniel Beck

Rose State women’s soccer head coach Damon Solomon released the Raiders’ 2017 schedule, which includes matches against four teams that ended 2016 ranked in the top-25 of the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) and National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll, and three regional champions. Monroe Community College, the Region I champion, Butler Community College KS, the Region IV champion, and Northern Oklahoma College (NOC), the Region II champion, will join Hutchinson Community College KS in facing the Rose State women this season. Monroe CC and Butler CC both participated in the 2016 NJCAA Tournament last season, with Hutchinson CC and NOC both finishing nationally ranked.

Rose has also scheduled their first two preseason matches against NCAA Division II opponents Texas Women’s University, of the Lonestar Conference, and then at home against Northeastern State University OK (NSU) out of the MIAA.

“I’m very excited with our schedule and I think it’s going to challenge us,” said Solomon. “Every week we have a team that is competing for a NJCAA Region Championship and national spot in the NJCAA tournament. Our preseason matches will be great test for us early.”

As a team, the Raiders return 7 starters and a wealth of experience in 2017. Rose State welcomes back four of the seven starters from its squad that advanced to the NJCAA Region II finals a year ago. Headlining the returners are Simone Ryan (NJCAA All- Region, Region II All-Region), Aspen Blood  (5 goals and 5 Assists), Jessica Titsworth (5 goals and 2 Assists) and Revella Fisher (.077 GAA and 5 shutouts).

The Rose State Women were victorious in their 2017 home opener against Pratt Community College KS Tuesday afternoon, winning 7-0.
