New Career Services Options for Rose State Students Published April 8, 2019

career services at roseRose State College is proud to announce an assortment of new on-campus career services options for students in need of career guidance. The new Career Services department at Rose State includes a new job board for employers, resume and portfolio assistance for students, interview coaching, and more. This newly formed department will consist of staff with decades of experience in career services, including new Director of Career Services, Misty Engelbrecht. This department will also oversee the two annual job fairs hosted by Rose State each year. 

“The mission of the Rose State College Career Services Center is to support student career development through assistance with Career Exploration, Career Planning, and Job Search Skills and Strategies,” Misty Engelbrecht, director of career services, said. “The Career Services team also works with campus partners and community resources to provide employment and internship opportunities for our students.” 

According to Oklahoma Higher Ed, 67 percent of all jobs created in Oklahoma will require some college, long-term certificate or a college degree. 

The career services center will work to connect students with employers and vice versa. Students are given the ability to explore and plan for different career options while giving employers the ability to connect directly with qualified individuals seeking jobs and internships. These connections will be facilitated via a new website for both students and employees to use through College Central

All Rose State Students are automatically enrolled in the College Central platform, allowing students to look at job listings employers upload for Rose State Students. Students can also upload their resumes and complete a job inventory profile so they can easily find job and internship listings that align with their in their interests. 

Rose State College Career Services is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday is in Room 103 of the Learning Resources Center (LRC). Extended hours are available Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2 pm -6 pm.
