The Rose State College Men’s and Women’s soccer teams finished their season earlier this month at the Region 2 Tournament in Enid, OK. The Men and Women both finished the tournament as runner-up after each fell in the championship game.

The Rose State men (12-6-1 overall, 7-2-1 conference) lost 2-1 against the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain. Rose State and Rich Mountain played two previous times this season, with the Rose State men winning the first meeting 3-1 and the second meeting ending in a tie. The Rose State women (15-3-2 overall, 11-1-2 conference) finished their 2019 run with a 2-1 loss to Seminole State College after a 2019 season that saw them ranked as high as 7th in the NJCAA poll.

All though each team fell short in the championship, both teams can hold their heads high as nine players were recognized on the Region 2 All-Region First or Second-team. April Hill, Laura “Sofia” Carvajal Granados, Chelsie Hay, Avery Holland, Jack Jardine, and Justin Croke were all named First Team All-Region, with Harvey Paul, Jusung Kang, and Quadri Bolakale being name Second-Team.
