Rose State College was recently named the best online community college in Oklahoma in a study conducted by Intelligent. The rankings were chosen based on multiple factors including tuition costs per credit hour, credits needed to graduate and course format.
“It is an honor to be chosen as the best online community college in Oklahoma,” Rose State College President Dr. Jeanie Webb said. “At Rose State, we prioritize the growth and development of our students by always listening to our students’ needs. We have structured our class schedules to allow flexibility for the many types of students we serve. Our tuition and fees are among the lowest in the state and we offer smaller class sizes for more one-on-one time with faculty either virtually or in-person.”
In addition to many classes being available 100% online, Rose State offers a FLEX option in an effort to help students attain their academic goals no matter the situation. The FLEX option is a combination of in-person, online and Zoom classes. Notably, 60% of students graduating with AA/AS degrees in 2021 went on to transfer to a 4-year university effectively saving $10,000 or more on the cost of their overall college education. Rose State also offers more than $30 million in financial aid and scholarships every year.
According to Intelligent, every school on the best-of list is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), which accredits educational institutions in 19 states. There are five criteria for accreditation through the HLC, including ethical and responsible conduct, quality, resources and support in teaching and learning and institutional effectiveness.
