RSC Foundation Raises $65,000 at First Auction Published May 6, 2015 by Tamara Pratt

The site of a longhorn in the middle of Midwest City might have caught a few people off guard, but the surprise was short lived when they realized it was all part of the Rose State College Foundation auction.

Doug Sauter and an Express ClydesdaleAt the Foundation’s first auction event organizers raised $65,000. Proceeds from the event benefit the community and raise money for future scholarships to Rose State.

Attendees were treated to cowboy hors d’oeuvres, a barbeque dinner and live entertainment. The entertainment included the chance to sit atop a longhorn for a photo.

Doug Sauter, retired head coach of the Oklahoma City Blazer’s hockey team and now team member with the Express Clydesdales, served as the auctioneer. Sauter made his grand entry atop one of the gentle giants and helped the Foundation meet its goal, not only financially but marking the event as a success.

Others in attendance at the Rose State Foundation auction included Rose State College leadership, College Regents, an Oklahoma State Representative and notable city leaders.

Sponsors for the evening included Air Comfort Solutions, CMS Willowbrook, FNB Community Bank, Advantage Bank, Bancfirst, Hudiburg Auto Group, Superior Security and Investigations, Barnes and Friederich Funeral Home. Broadway Development Group, Ford Funeral Services, Tinker Federal Credit Union and Midwest Regional Medical Center.
