Barbara Baumeister appointed Dean of the Health Sciences Division at Rose State College Published June 12, 2018

Photo of Rose State College Dean of Social Sciences Barbara BaumeisterMidwest City, Okla. – Rose State College is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Barbara Baumeister as the new dean of the Health Sciences Division. Baumeister has served as the associate dean for the division since 2006.

“Without a doubt, Ms. Baumeister is a great candidate to become the next dean of Health Sciences. Her extensive knowledge and experience in the division and community college field will ensure the continuous success of the programs under her guidance,” said Jeanie Webb, president of Rose State College.

Taking over the role as dean of Health Sciences, one of Ms. Baumeister’ s many goals is to maintain the high quality found and expected in the Allied Health and Nursing programs.

“I hope to build on our success by collaborating with various support programs already offered on campus and to develop additional specific Health Science oriented support that can assist students in attaining their goals,” said Dean Baumeister.

Baumeister succeeds Dan Points who served Rose State College for over forty years, beginning as the Program Director of Respiratory Therapy and obtaining the position of dean of the Health Sciences Division in 2003.

Dean Baumeister graduated with a BA in Biology from Knox College in 1972 and preceded with earning a Master’s degree in Microbiology from OU Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) in 1981. In 2008, Dean Baumeister earned a second Master’s degree in Public Health from OUHSC.
