Rose State College Professor recognized by Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services Published February 12, 2020

Pictured: Dr. Sharon Harrison receiving her award from Oklahoma Secretary of Commerce, Sean KouplenThe Department of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) recently recognized Dr. Sharon Harrison for her work on workforce issues for individuals with disabilities. In one project she has been creating a strategic direction in conjunction with Fatos Floyd of DRS to help match Oklahomans with disabilities to employers in the state who are hiring. There are 129,000 disabled individuals in the state of which 39,000 are looking for employment opportunities. Dr. Harrison has been working to break down barriers to employment and educate business on accommodations to employment that can open jobs to citizens with disabilities.
