Student Support Services - TRIO

Overview

Student Support Services (SSS) is a national TRIO program funded by the Department of Education. Our goal is to ensure that participants persist in college and earn an associate’s degree or certificate and/or transfer to a four-year university. View the variety of free services we provide below.

Transfer Assistance

When you’re ready to transfer, we’ll help you navigate through the application process, prepare your personal statement essays, and identify appropriate references.

Resource Library

Our resource library includes a wide variety of materials designed to keep you on track academically. Textbooks, CDs, software, information cards - we've got the information you need to be successful!  Materials must be checked out and utilized in our tutoring lab.

Tutoring & Academic Mentoring

You will have access to a private study hall and tutoring lab, designed specifically for SSS students. Our Academic Mentors will be available to enhance study skills in a variety of subject areas.

You will have an opportunity to attend museums, festivals, plays, musicals, ballets, and other really great activities!

Campus Visits

You’ll get the opportunity to visit multiple four-year institutions to help you determine which institution best suits your personal and academic needs. Already know where you want to go? These visits are a great way to become familiar with the campus!

Student Expectations
SSS students are expected to participate in the program once accepted; however, the level of participation will vary depending on the support you desire. We expect you to be committed to your educational and personal goals – and that you will utilize our services to help you reach those goals.
