John Godwin of the TV show Duck DynastyWill share fishing tips and techniques as part of Rose State’s Crappie University

Rose State is proud to announce the addition of television personality John Godwin to the list of instructors for this year’s Crappie University. Crappie University, which takes place February 16, is an annual fishing class where fishermen and women of all ages and skill levels can hone their craft by learning from experienced guides and experts that know firsthand the best fishing spots in Oklahoma. Godwin, a Crappie Master’s champion himself, hopes to share his Crappie experiences.

Best known for his reoccurring appearances on the hit A&E reality television series Duck Dynasty, John Godwin, or Godwin as he’s referred to on Duck Dynasty, is a friend and employee of Duck Commander. Godwin builds duck calls, manages supplies, oversees the shipping department of Duck Commander, and is one of the few full-time Duck Commander employees not part of the Robertson family. Godwin is also a winner of the Crappie Master’s Championship, where he and partner Jay Stone won as first-time participants. Godwin and Stone are also members of Duck Commanders newest brand, Fin Commander.

Crappie University will consist of six, one-hour sessions, and will feature the “Crappie Coach” Barry Morrow, longtime Lake Eufaula crappie guide Todd Huckabee, full-time crappie guide Josh Jones, and Crappie University founder Gary White.

“Crappie fishing is no longer a cane pole and bobber sport, and the pursuit of this sports fish has never been more popular,” said Gary White.

Crappie University at Rose State College will be February 16, 2019, from 9 am to  5 pm in the Community Learning Center. Registration is $99.
