Rose State College Food & Personal Care Items Drive Published September 9, 2022

food pantryDid you know that 1 in 6 people are facing food insecurity? This is especially prevalent among college students. In coordination with Hunger Action Month this September, we invite the community to join us in the fight against hunger and food insecurity! The Rose State College Diversity Center is kicking off the annual Food and Personal Care Items Drive for the entire month of September.

Who am I helping?

All donations collected throughout the month will go directly to support the on-campus food pantry called Raider Necessities located in the Diversity Center across the street from the Student Union. This is a free resource for all students, faculty, and staff to utilize twice a month and it is open Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. A Rose State ID is required to shop the pantry.

What donation items will be accepted?

Canned/packaged foods and snacks, bottled/carton beverages, non-perishable food items, personal care items/toiletries, and baby care items like diapers and wipes! See the full list on the flyer below! *For any donations that require refrigeration or a freezer, please bring them directly to the Diversity Center, Monday-Friday 8 am - 5 pm.

Where can I bring my donations?

You can drop off your donations in the labeled "Campus Food Drive" boxes set up around campus in the Jeanie Webb Student Union, Health Sciences Center, Learning Resource Center, and Diversity Center.

Did you donate? Let us know!

Your contributions count, and we want to publicly thank participants of the drive as "Hunger Heroes" at the upcoming College Summit on Hunger event happening Wednesday, September 28 in the Student Union - FNB Community Bank Ballroom, 9 am - 3 pm. Submit your information here.
