Campus Closures and Other Paid Time Off

Closures:

  • 1 week in March for Spring Break
  • 1 week in November for Fall Break
  • 1 - 2 weeks in December/January for Winter Holiday Break
  • Summer Hours in June and July

Other Paid Time Off

In addition to annual and sick leave, every FT employee also receives 40 hours of discretionary leave each year (pro-rated for new employees)

Covid-19 – Paid Sick Leave and Expanded FMLA

Health Insurance

Health insurance is available on a pro-rata basis for all regular personnel employed 50 percent or more of the time. The College provides health insurance through the Employees Group Insurance Division and pays your health insurance premium. Coverage is effective the first day of the month following your hire date. Dependent coverage is available at your expense. Rates and summaries are available on the OKHEEI site.

Dental Insurance

Dental insurance is available at College expense on a pro-rata basis for all regular personnel employed 50 percent or more of the time. The College provides dental insurance through Delta Dental. Coverage is effective the first day of the month following your hire date. Dependent coverage is available at your expense. Rates and summaries are available on the EGID site.

Vision Insurance

Vision insurance is available at College expense on a pro-rata basis for all regular personnel employed 50 percent or more of the time. The College provides vision insurance through VSP. Coverage is effective the first day of the month following your hire date. Dependent coverage is available at your expense. Rates and summaries are available on the EGID site.

Life Insurance

Life insurance is available at College expense on a pro-rata basis for all regular personnel employed 50 percent or more of the time. The life insurance is provided through Standard Life. Insurance coverage is equal to two times your annual salary. Coverage is effective the first day of the month following your hire date. Additional employee and/or dependent coverage is available at your expense through Standard Life Insurance.

Disability Insurance

Disability insurance is available at College expense on a pro-rata basis for all regular personnel employed 50 percent or more of the time. The College provides long-term disability insurance through American Fidelity. After a ninety day elimination period, the insurance pays 66 2/3% of your gross salary. Coverage is effective the first day of the month following your hire date. Short-term disability is available at your expense.

Retirement

All regular personnel employed 50 percent of the time or more are eligible for membership in the Oklahoma Teachers’ Retirement System at the College expense. Retirement benefits are based on employee compensation. Coverage is effective the first day of employment.

403(b) Retirement

All regular personnel employed 50 percent or more of the time will be enrolled in the 403(b) tax sheltered retirement program. An account will be established on your behalf with Lincoln Financial Group. The College will make a contribution in the amount of 1.5% of your gross salary. The College will match up to 1% of your voluntary salary deferrals. Coverage is effective the first month of employment.

Section 125

The College participates in the IRS Section 125 plan through Chard Snyder.

Annual Leave

All regular personnel employed 50 percent of the time or more, on a 12 month basis, receive annual leave. Accrual rates are based upon years of service and percentage of contract.

Sick Leave

All regular personnel employed 50 percent or more of the time receive sick leave. Accrual rates are based upon percentage of contract.

COBRA

You may continue your health related benefits through the federal COBRA plan upon termination of employment.

Unemployment Compensation

The College is self insured for the unemployment program that is administered by the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission.

Tuition

Rose State College tuition waivers are available for employees and their dependents.

Please fill out the appropriate form, attach the necessary documentation, obtain the required signatures, and submit it to the appropriate office. Once approved, the cashiers will post the waiver to your account.

Direct Deposit

Direct Deposit is required for all regular personnel.

Pay Distribution

All regular personnel employed 50 percent of the time or more are paid on the last working day of each month. Nine, 10 and 12-month contracts are all paid in twelve installments.
